looks great Chris, love all these Corniche roads in France. The Innova should be perfect for it.
I'm away on my wee bike ( 248cc think it just qualifies ) exploring all the wee roads in the South West of Ireland,
Only managing 90 mpg though

Re: Midges
+1 for head net and skin so soft by Avon is a minimum requirement, even consider a net that covers head and shoulders so you can eat and drink in peace are good too, Highlander make them, if I was wild camping in Scotland i would have one.

Re: Go Big and Ride Small
I have had one for a few months now as well, it replaced the Forza scooter that I didn't get on with. As fatowl says it is high geared but I'm also changing the sprockets soon as the original chain is nearly done. I didn't get the luggage either and I find with a 52l topbox and 30l bag on the seat i...

Re: 3k to spend. What would you buy?
Your original remit sounds a bit like me, ie you have a bigger bike for touring but want a small bike for just bimbling about on locally. I have run small bikes for the past 10 years alongside my main touring bike, i concentrated mainly on stuff like crf250l/xt250/himalayan but as I never went off r...

Re: Europe 2021
attitudes to risk are interesting. I believe the general public view of motorcycling is that it is dangerous activity, it is listed on the dangerous activities on my insurers lists (Nationwide) I wonder where the greater risk lies. Travelling the average mileage per year by motorcycle or taking a av...

Re: Europe 2021
I've given up on Europe this year. I have had a Sutherland/Caithness weeks tour in early May, it was great. Took in all the best bits of the NC500 and dodged most of the rain. I,m off to Grantown on Spey for week next week, taking the little 250 this time to make it more interesting. Got an Airbnb h...

Re: Scotland - Off Road
I completely accept the need to preserve and look after the kind of valuable wilderness habitats you find in Scotland. There are natural park areas in France too, where we are justifiably not allowed to ride. But for the WHOLE country to be virtually off limits is a crying shame. In my experience 2...

Re: Scotland - Off Road
The upside of Scotland is there is a "right to roam" There are literally hundreds of trails and rivers that you can walk, bike, e bike, canoe, horse ride anywhere and usually at the end of the day wild camp. completely protected by the law. its not a bad system.

Re: A few days in the North West
Whippet says its a good travel bike for this kind of trip. Fast enough to cover the ground up to Scotland. Fine for the little B roads and forest roads that you can do up here. However, in Whippets opinion its not something to take offroad on real knarly technical stuff,at 204 kgms its too heavy. go...
