Re: Electric bikes and cars - get real
A couple of years ago there was a government report that said the quality of air was so poor in our cities that schools and hospitals should install air conditioning. Talk about a sticking plaster solution. Electric cars and bikes are not THE solution, but they may be part of it. My wife has a hybri...

Re: Bigger hand guards and mudguard extension for GP450
Hi, thanks for the replies so far. The Cycra guards look interesting, I do have some handlebar muffs for when it gets really cold but find that the ones I've got work best over handguards. I might try some of the posh Urbano Trocano ones this winter. I agree with Minkyhead about the mudguard, maybe ...

Bigger hand guards and mudguard extension for GP450
As the weather seems to be getting a bit more like Autumn, can anyone recommend some bigger handguards and front mudguard extension for a CCM GP450. I am after something that will just bolt on without any faffing about.

I would start with a comfortable seat as standard.

Re: How old are we. Poll.
As a 50 year old I fall into two groups but have never felt the need to dress like a power ranger or ride an R1. I have owned over 50 bikes and ridden countless more. I think I have ridden over a million miles, although it is hard to tell cos most of the time the speedo wasn't working officer. Still...

Re: Nicola Sturgeon latest wheeze.
If I were Scottish I would vote for Nicola, in fact if the SNP had a candidate in the English constituency that I live in I would vote for them. If you leave aside the independence question, because it does not (unfortunately) apply to the Derbyshire Dales, most of her other policies seem to make fa...

Re: EU. In or out?
Whatever her Nationality she is making some valid points about how the rhetoric used by 'mainstream' politicians (she could add a lot of media) has given rise to the perception that Britain is a racist nation. This is one of the very sad things about the Brexit debate. It may not have been the reaso...

Re: Which Adventure Boots?
If you are not doing a lot of difficult, rocky green lanes, I would look at Altbergs. Waterproof, really comfortable (the insole being the same as their walking boots), hard wearing (my first pair are nearly twenty years old) and you can get them resoled. You can also wear the Hoggs as walking boots...

Re: EU. In or out?
Well reading through the last few days posta I have found the one argument that might have persuaded me to think about voting out. The fact that the British government will no longer be able to blame everything on the EU. I just hope this applies to the press as well. It will be half of their headli...

Re: EU. In or out?
Sorry my mistake I was reading the current predictions for next month rather than August figures. I was talking to a local shop keeper the other day whom informed me as virtually all their stock is imported, everything will be going up in the coming weeks. Maybe for once I should do my Xmas shopping...
