Re: UK driving licence 'may not be valid in EU'
I thought you already had to have 6 months left on your passport to travel abroad and an extra £5.50 on top of my summer holiday.... big deal! I voted remain btw but I'm not getting hysterical because it didn't go my way.

Re: Speeding in Luxembourg, anyone got any experience?
If they've got your address I would probably just pay it.You know you were in the wrong and it's not as if you're getting points on your licence. If it was your annual holiday it's an extra 1€ a week so I would just suck it up,it's not worth stressing about.

The poles are 470mm long and I have the tent split in two bags 500mm long which makes it much easier to pack away in the morning.

I've got a Berghaus Peak 3.3 tent. I haven't actually used it with my bike but no reason I couldn't. I use it for hillwalking and wild camping with my girlfriend and dog. I split the outer from the inner and poles and it easily fits in a rucksack so would also fit in top box/panniers. It only weigh...

I've used www.qdosbreakdown.co.uk before. Very efficient when I came off my bike and broke my clutch lever then missed my ferry home.

Nice one, shame your bike broke down.I've got the maps out just now planning something similar but probably not go any further than Slovenia and spend more time meandering through Switzerland and the Dolomites.
