I'd ride it David. To use an OBD reader you need an adapter cable. I have one which fits both my 701 and 901. I've used it on my 701 but not the Norden. I think I bought it from TuneECU. Re the open face / no Pinlock issue. I very much doubt that you'll need a Pinlock with an open face helmet.

When riding mixed roads and trails I use a Shark Evoline. Flip over so the guard is out of the way. Sun visor, guard when you need it. Works for me.
