Re: Bike Down

The correct level is oil visible in the sight glass. No need to top up until it’s right at the bottom. So where you had it after adding the 2litres is fine for trying to start the bike again. In my experience it’s usually something like half litre from bottom of sight glass to top so don’t go tippin...

Re: New Zealand or Not?

We travelled around South Island NZ in March and April this year. Very small Campervan though. 4 weeks was just enough to do a full lap of SI and see most of what we wanted. Highly recommended but most of the trip I was wishing I was on the bike. As others have said campsites everywhere (get CamperM...

Re: Just a thought what's the furthest north anyone has been on a bike?????

Nordkapp June 2017. Fantastic, great weather with loads of snow lying about slowly melting in the sunshine. Nordkapp centre is touristy and pricey (as is everything in Norway) but worth it to get as far as you can go. About 20miles North of Fairbanks, Alaska in 2015 before smoke from forest fires an...

Re: An Australian lap attempt.....anti clockwise

Thanks just what we needed. :) I am pretty sure we will rent as cheap a car as we can find - money is tight on this trip - so self catering too so good news on the campsite kitchens. Camper vans always sound good initially until you start to think about the details and then don't sound very good at ...

Re: An Australian lap attempt.....anti clockwise

Great stuff :D We are planning a trip down under later this year - New Zealand first for 5-6 weeks to visit our son and travel round, then over to Sydney to visit another friend followed by a ride or drive or camper across Oz to Perth and another friend before heading home. The cost of things on the...

WANTED BMW GS Adventure Pannier Bag - right (large) side

Wanted, just the one BMW GS Adventure pannier bag/liner from the pre-LC model. Right side (bigger) bag preferred but will consider left side if that's all that's available. I don't need any of the straps etc but must otherwise be watertight. Don't mind well used and scruffy as long as it remains wat...

Re: Nordkapp, should I?

Another here who got to Nordkapp in June 2017. We went North via the Baltic States and Finland. I felt quite emotional when we eventually made it to Nordkapp. Finland was not boring at all. Nowhere is the first time you pass through. Although we didn’t take any photos at all in Finland so I guess th...

Thread preview?

On all the other forums I use when I hover the mouse pointer over the subject matter of a thread I get a preview of about the first 20-30 words of the first post - enough so I get the gist of the thread or it reminds me what the thread was about when I last looked at it. In fact I think on some foru...

Re: Stop n go plugger

I have had mixed results with PnG. With the last puncture earlier this year the first plug got e a few mies home and then about another 25 before popping out. The second repair wasted about 3 plugs before I got one to hold. That failed next day. The third plug then lasted around 300 miles before it ...
