if any of you were thinking of crossing the Forth using the new Queensferry crossing, to have a look, DON'T.
There are horrendous queues as there is still lots of work going on.
Use one of the crossings west of Kincardine e.g. Stirling.

Re: Ullapool
Eric,
I hope to make it to Ullapool and put a face to a few of the names who are regulars on this forum.
I have met Steve T a couple of times.
Camping is my plan.
Ian.

Re: Which cook system?
B) I bought one of the £7.99 jobs;the braided sleeve had a fee jaggy bits poking out, the arms are not as nicely made as my MSR windpro and the burner got red hot in operation.
Boiled water as quick as the MSR and simmer control was OK.
I am a bit concerned about the burner head going red though !!

Re: Which Tent?
+1 for going to a Go Outdoors shop. You will see a decent enough range of tents to let you establish what you don't want as well as clues to what you do.
They keep some RAB sleeping bags so again a view of what size/bulk money buys.
Do not walk out with a tent and bag under your arm ---- !!!!

B) Out of interest what does it measure across the panniers and the handlebars ? Is that the Yamaha rack system for the bike ?
Hope you enjoy piling on the 1000's of miles.
