You have a seal in your forks keeping the crap out, why wrap around something that will soak up water and hold it against your forks. waste of hard earned cash IMO but that's the engineer in me talking.

Just read the post again. If you rev the engine like badsanta said and the voltage is dropping a bit then I would take a good look at the wiring first and connect the RR directly to the battery see what happens.

You can test the RR and the alternator but for go cheap and easy. Check the wiring and connections first. Connect the pos and neg from the RR directly to the battery and see what it's putting out then (they do a better job that way. Do a load test on the battery (fully charged) by putting your meter...

Fantastic bike! I have one of these with over 70K miles on it and nothing wrong with it at all.
Will be a good buy for someone. I would if I had the spare cash.

I like to keep a few crimped connectors too for dodgy connections but my bike is 20 odd yrs old.

Slow the spindle down more and keep a constant pressure on the cut, don't let it back off or it will burr up cos you're just rubbing the Ali.
