I have a Husky WRE 125 and it's taken massive abuse including being dropped down a mountain slope and still rideable. Great light weight bike but as 2T it's like riding a chain saw and no engine breaking for tricky downhill trails. My friend had a DR 400 and seemed to have better control in the moun...

As doczippy said final drive shaft may be an issue. I recall posts that say average life is 45 - 50 k and a BMW dealer repair / replacement of roller bearings etc is expensive. Mine on the 55 1150 GSA was refurbished under warranty at 45K so be warned. Pitting of fork legs is no problem to sort and ...

You may wish to post this question on www.ukgsers.com as it has many GS Geeks. If the bike is 5 speed gearbox it may be a 1100 GS as the 1150s have a 6 speed box.
