Re: Imagine if you had no mechanical knowledge
I only really understand pictures and not words, which I bore in mind when later in life I entered teaching. Lots of photos taken and 'cut away' models made, I also learned more too  Look out for the old Eagle comic which had such pictures across the centre pages, brilliant. TTFN Hugh. When I ...

Re: Imagine if you had no mechanical knowledge
I have a lot of sympathy for technical authors who write those manuals Tell me about it. I once wrote a 'simple' instruction book for a Generation One digital tachograph for Volvo Trucks...one of the most demanding things I've ever done. You have to constantly remind yourself 1) the reader knows no...

The most lost tool
Hi All, We've all lost a 10mm socket in our time I'm sure but currently my whole socket set is AWOL and I've searched high and low. This got me thinking what tools have we all experienced wandering off for time and then showing up again? For me its a this old set of carpenters pinchers I got from my...

Re: Imagine if you had no mechanical knowledge
That was great. It must be nice to do your first oil change in a really well kitted out workshop, on a newish bike, with a manual and a patient helper.

Re: Why did you sell your last bike?
Sold my lovely '99 50th Anni Transalp a year ago to make more room in the garage for building of a kit car. Then, shortly after, a straight swap of my '06 MT01 for a new but pre-reg SCR950. Otherwise, I haven't sold a bike for many years - I tend to hang onto them.... they're a pretty harmless vice...

Re: Why did you sell your last bike?
Why did I sell my last bike? I've sold several for space and because they've been made redundant by new bikes. However the last was sold to raise funds for a house to call my own. My Honda Rally which replaced my DR650SE. I don't miss the Rally as it lacked charm and it wouldn't fit in my new storag...

Re: Mash XT500 clone
It's only my opinion but I think Mash Motors should change the photo of the bike on the front page of their website...it makes the bike look 'spindly' and the other photos make it look 'chunky'...i.e. the photo they've chosen is distorted... or is it just me :? https://mashmotors.co.uk/models/650cc...
