Re: What's The Best, No Nonsense, do it all Green Lane Bike?
I did just about all the ADV meets with Timpo and co--and great they were. I used a good old Honda CRF230--well its not old(2007), but air cooled--and with a suspension tweak is a fine bike. I did the ADV GYOA trip on it --Greece, Albania and so on--trails and loaded with camping gear--did it well,...

I am certainly not going to criticise the vid. It may not have been perfect but it did tick most of the boxes. I ride in a similar fashion and am still here to tell the tale. He did bring up a lot of good points, like:a) It is not necessary to be over here or there if you are riding slow enough as ...

Re: What's The Best, No Nonsense, do it all Green Lane Bike?
Selling a bike to 3rd World countries for 30 years does not make it a better bike than one that's only been in production for a year. If you're going to take that approach then the best bike in the World is a Honda C90 and anything else is just an exercise in futility and greed. Dont think The USA ...

Re: And Your Next Bike Will Be..........
At the moment I have a low mileage MK1 650 Versys which I do about 3000miles a year on most of which are circumnavigating Europes Mountain Ranges & Gorges. I love it to bits & as a roadie it does everything I ask of it. I would love an Africa Twin which may happen over the next 2 years. I ma...

By virtue of it's record the Suzuki DR200 is probably the best Do IT All that has ever been made. It's now been made from 1986 to 2016 so 30 years of continuous production with only minor changes, like the addition of electric start. It's been made in various types for Recreation, Semi Commercial &a...

Re: Reflective bib required in France
Maybe the Police should have their bikes put back to "Off the Peg Spec." before they sell them on, which would avoid the issues of impersonating wanabes. Frankly if you're not breaking the law then who cares about the identity of other road users. As for not knowing a Fireblade from...

Re: Asiawing LX450 Rallye
About 9,000 GBP.
Sounds a bit expensive for a new Pacific rim entrant.
Need to be a bit established before you can ask those prices for a 450.
Still not convinced that mid sized rally look alike AB's have much of a market in the UK.

He certainly did one & mentioned that it was habitual & not needed.skidlydog wrote:Didn't see him do any "life savers"?
He had 2 wing mirrors & a central panoramic so plenty of surroundings awareness.
