Re: Hi there from a Surrey G650GS rider

Hi and welcome. I have a G650 sertao in the stable which I have done many miles on and it's a good bike for solo trips.

Re: Peak District ride 5th October

Where and when do you propose to meet up? I am on night shift Friday night but may be able to get away a little early.

Re: Numb Bum

I use moto skiveez on long trips and can recommend them. They are not ideal off the bike though if doing a lot of walking around. You feel like you are wearing a nappy. I have also used a sheepskin cover and find that very good too. The advantage of the sheepskin is that it can double a a pillow if ...

Re: Motion Pro bead breaker tyre levers, I am just rubbish?...

I've used them to swap hiedanau tyres before which are notoriously hard to swap. A said before a bit at a time then going over the same area again worked for me a well. I did use a spray of WD40 into the gap been tyre and wheel as well though.

Re: Hammock advice

Jeez you're right about it not being cheap. Might need to make sure I am going to stick with it before spending that kind of money. I already have a small fortune invested in some high end tents and stuff.

Re: Hammock advice

IMG_20190622_190532.jpg Managed to trial erect the hammock today and it went up easy enough with good tree straps and karabiners included in the kit. Quality looks good on the stitching etc but unfortunately it's too short for me. I'll keep hold of it as it was cheap enough but will probably shell ...

Re: Hammock advice

Thanks for the replies, especially Frenchy whose response was very thorough and helpful. I already own a 3x3 DD tarp, 4 season camping quilt which will double as an underquilt and a helinox chair or 3 along with lots of other camping and climbing gear. I have took the advice offered and ordered a pa...
