If you go the AT route, try to get a ride on the dual clutch version. I just spent 2 days in the company of one, and it can do lovely-sounding MotoGP style seamless gearchanges, but it also seemed to have a mind of its own in certain situations. Sometimes a help, sometimes a hinderance, I'd say.

Good article. Sure he's promoting a book, but I have no problem with that. It's an interesting subject, and a total scandal that in the 21st century so much beautiful countryside is privately owned, gated and prohibited, in the hands of so few. Anyone heard of Tom Davies? I suspect BF will pull its boats away from the UK altogether once the UK exits from the Single Market, and run ro-ro freight direct from Ireland to Western France and Spain. It will save a lot of hassle. There are two new Ireland - Europe mainland ferry routes already, apparently.
