Re: Daily travel budget in Europe?
I camp and just looked up my costs for last September, For 22 days I went through about €1,100 and that included my camping at municipal sites, fuel, food shopping and wines as well as various presents. I tend to bbq in the evening so its cheap..

Re: Warning light issue and recovery/warranty bigger issue.
I know nothing about KTMs, but on my car owners group they were plagued with ABS and TC warnings and it became regarded as a sign of pending battery touble as in sub par voltage due to failing battery or alternator fault. On one of my bikes the frequent ABS warnings vanished after I replaced a batte...

Re: BMW R1100RS 1993 46k
Thanks Olaf. Indeed it is--hence the hall effect change due to dodgy wiring--apparently a known problem on the early oilheads. I'm not greedy!---just a reasonable return---Actually went out for a 20 mile or so run on it yesterday and it was below 2C--just to check the brakes after repositioning a h...

Isn't that the one you brought to France in September when we were in St Leon?
If it is, for anyone reading this post, it's an awesome bike and the photos don't do it justice. I would have thought that was a £2k bike and its ready to go.
That's one to buy unseen.

Re: ABR Ireland 2024
Fabulous area. Put me down for this one as I won't be going to France until later in the year. Not sure if you have chosen the camp pitch yet, but between Bantry and Glengarriffe there is Eagle Point, by the sea. It has hedges that also provide sheltered pitches. I have stayed there a few times. som...

Re: Screens - I’m confused.
I have a number of K bikes, all with different screens but underneath the configuration is the same. One is very low, love it, more exposed but with the right gear rain noise buffetting has not been an issue. My go to bike for the heat in Spain and France and discovered this by accident as I intende...

Re: Biking Brotherhood?
Thats how life is. Many years back people would step up but the average motorcyclist back then knew stuff. i have funny stories of having a Honda 500-4 in the early-mid 70s and stopped one day clutch cable issue [had a spare]. Guy stopped to help but as he said himself he' would not know where to st...

Re: Has the time come for more comuter bikes
To be able to commute on a bike you need to think through how you store bike gear. So in nice weather no big deal. Wet morning.....put on gear and ride to work or wherever. Store gear when you get there.....so if its wet gear how do you do that? For the ride home, wet gear? Maybe you have some place...
