Re: GPS
As a matter of interest, have the CPS ever secured a conviction for speeding based
on data stored on a driver's own GPS device? I'm thinking that if the police had
reason to pull over a motorist for say, a defective light, could they then demand the
driver hand over their GPS unit?

Re: Advice from the Brains Trust required
Okay boys, I didn't want to cause a rift in the family :) Today I've managed to take some measurements and photos. The background is that the bike is a 2001 low handlebar model that I bought 4 years ago with 8K on the clock. I'm the forth owner. As bought, the underside was in a poor state, the swin...

Re: Tank bag
Dunc I bought a tank bag from Lidls two years ago. To answer your specific question as to whether the magnets will hold. I've found on my W650 that by themselves they will not hold because of the thickness of the rubber kneepads. The rear of the bag tends to lift at speed. However, I fit the strap a...

Advice from the Brains Trust required
I got the W650 out of hibernation yesterday and had a good look Round.
I've found some lateral play on the swinging arm - should there be any?
The bike has cover just 14 thousand miles.

I suggest you have a look at www.simplyhike.co.uk they have many video clips
of suitable tents. The Vango Halo 200 looks good at about £100 for a 2010 model.

Re: Thermarest Neoair Mattress
I do have a Thermarest Neoair mattress, but the 3/4 size. As far as I remember it takes about thirty lung fulls to inflate. I should imagine that they mainly appeal to ultra-light backpackers as they fold up to no larger than a Coke can and weigh very little. However, my problem with mine is that it...

Re: Soft luggage?
Sorry, no experience of Wolfman products, but I do use soft luggage. Bought a pair of Held panniers off ebay for £20. One had been burned/melted from an exhaust but had been repaired reasonbly well. In the event some time later I bought another identical pair, again from ebay for about £20. The Velc...

Re: Goretex Lockout
Zips aren't perfect either; my motorcycle jacket zip has jammed a couple of times on the lining - probably because I was in a rush. In the event I had to remove the jacket over my head and carefully free it off. This new closure system may have some advantages. I'll keep an open mind for now.
