I don't see the appeal but take my hat off to hom for the ability to push himself that far. As for the danger side he cannot be any worse than me riding just 40 miles home after a 13hr night shift. familiarity with the roads makes it hard to concentrate and I may be more alert on ufamiliar roads.

where are you setting off from and what type of riding as not been off road before and the DL could be a handful.

My missus used to fall asleep and was no trouble but I made the mistake of talking her into learing to ride. Now we have to do everything at her speed and stop when she needs to or I risk losing her.

There are a couple of great ones at Barber Booth and Upper Booth at the base of Kinder scout if you are into scenery or walking or there is a nice one at Pomeroy on the main road with access to the Tissington trail and there is mountain bike hire nearby and a good pub just down the road.

I am so glad that I am old when I see things like this. It is however the only time I'm glad I'm old. Would probably pay the quote to be young again though.
