my usual bags no more available in the UK so it seems, note I prefer to add a webbing strap around each and another taking the majority of the weight through those two over the seat as conventional throughovers, and extra touratech light straps for final security a bit of a faf to load but completle...

an experimental superlight bivvy only no tent setup, two military pouches, worked OK.

my CRF rally has outback mototrek ones pretty standard stuff although they appear good quality. I agree the The Somme as some know has a horrific WW1 history you can read about numbers and statistics but when you see and read the lists of names on these monuments its staggering. Sad to hear your thoughts that their sacrifice is being forgotten.

I have a 17plate 250 rally bar width which is the widest part is 840mm, but the bars are aftermarket renthals with caphead bolts holding on the hand guards adding a little width too. thanks for the pics they give a good feel for the area, alot of resevoirs here in Wales are very low too. There are problems coming, for many who are used to just turning a tap on I fear.
