Re: Covid 19 Coronavirus

I believe I just heard P.M Borris tell the population that once folk in England have cycled home from work they can hop in the car and drive to --- anyplace actually, for recreation. So when they pop north to Scotland to sit in a park remember they need to tell the Scottish Polis that Boris said the...

Re: Conspiracy Theories ?

The Government know they could not build sufficient infrastructure to support Electric Vehicles. The money, "allocated" today in the Covid19 briefing, to support cycling to your job in manufacturing, in all weather will negate the need for electric personal transport. All Aircraft fuselage...

Re: Covid 19 Coronavirus

This seems a pretty rational article to me. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-52578939 IMHO the focus on R is a red herring and was used by Government to make it look like they understood what was happening in lieu of hard data. Why not simply use the information we see day in and day out and f...

Re: Covid 19 Coronavirus

I think Garyboy made some of my point. Fact Vs Political Fiction. R = 33 and 200,099 dead would be a really scary message Anybody watching War of the Worlds (again). So R =3 and now we fink (guess/want to imply) it's 0.98765 without any actual data Behavioural Science needs hooks. The current hook i...

Re: Covid 19 Coronavirus

In God wee might trust but all others need to bring data.

Testing and Tracing from a statistically significant group of infected people would give a data based R.
Repeating the exercise geographically and then repeating weekly? would give a data based view of R changing over time.

Re: Covid 19 Coronavirus

Hot news. A confession from the First Minister , today. "Nicola Sturgeon stresses that the R numbers for all parts of the UK are only estimates. “We think our number is somewhere between 0.7 and 1; we can’t rule out it being still closer to 1 than 0.7," says the first minister. "We th...

Re: Covid 19 Coronavirus

I have been patiently waiting for a reply from my MSP on how the initially quoted R of Three was calculated, specifically what the data source for the calculation was Given when R of 3 was announced we had heehaw tracing or testing it's a mystery to me how it could have been done. The Covid19 Commit...
