Re: KLR 650 ABS base model

The auto decompression just enables quicker cranking but it still should fire as it only releases a little compression pressure--sounds like its more of a cold start enrichment ECU issue--but hopefully you'll get it sorted pretty quickly. I spent 3 years in Peoria , Illinois, and also had a KLR 650 ...

Re: 2022 KLR 650

Nice to hear from you--and glad you are settled in the US. The Yuletide rally was a bit different this year--but with the usual suspects. A few years ago now I worked for CAT in Peoria Illinois. During the 3 years there I had a PC800, a VFR750 AND a KLR 650--simply because I couldn't export my nearl...

Re: YULETIDE RALLY 2023 REVIVED its back on

Great weekend. Worth doing again next year. A small band turned up and did various ride outs on Saturday. I Left early on Sunday (and skipped my breakfast) to try and beat the heavy rain---failed miserably--it only sort of stopped in the last 10 miles of a 300 mile very wet trip back to South Lincs....

Re: Screens - I’m confused.

Try one of those clip on extras to start with---the cheap Chinese ones are surprisingly good. They can be adjusted for hight and tilted to give you that bit more deflection over the top. Unfortunately only some manufacturers design screens that have a duct(gap) at the bottom and an inner surface whi...

Gear4 KTM, Honda, Husqvarna, GasGas dealer in Market Deeping are now selling the CF Moto Range--see their website--basically because CF Moto make engines for KTM. I particularly like the 650 tourer now at less than 5k.

Re: Insurance for Albania and Montenegro

Albania should now be EU covered by companies like CN, Bulgaria certainly is.

Re: The RAC and the motorcyclist

A few weeks ago now I was travelling from just north of Rouen to Calais on my R1100RS--it was wet--I was on the motorway when the bike suddenly cut out at 70. I stopped on the hard shoulder, tried a restart, waggled fuses, swapped relays etc but nothing--it would crank but not fire. I'm with McKenzi...

Re: Balkan Motorcycle Insurance

These days check your standard green card coverage--e.g. CN--simply because of the spread of countries that are "in" the EU.

Re: New Beta Alp 4

In a sensible world it would be, but a lean engine produces NOx. So, its all about having a furnace-like cat to burn the hydrocarbons etc down. NOxis a high temperature combustion product so I don't agree with your comment. With a 3 way catalyst then the deNOx bit only works when there is no spare ...
