The auto decompression just enables quicker cranking but it still should fire as it only releases a little compression pressure--sounds like its more of a cold start enrichment ECU issue--but hopefully you'll get it sorted pretty quickly. These days check your standard green card coverage--e.g. CN--simply because of the spread of countries that are "in" the EU.

In a sensible world it would be, but a lean engine produces NOx. So, its all about having a furnace-like cat to burn the hydrocarbons etc down. NOxis a high temperature combustion product so I don't agree with your comment. With a 3 way catalyst then the deNOx bit only works when there is no spare ...
