Based in Quito, yes.
We’ll be back in Blighty in the spring sometime, happy to meet up and show you our routes before you go.
BTW I saw you posted on Horizons about a Carnet - I’m sure you know but not needed in the Americas.

Re: South America Advice Wanted
If you’re in Ecuador visit a company called Freedom Ecuador bike rental https://freedombikerental.com/en/. It’s a very professional outfit owned by a couple of Americans. We called in and spoke to one of the owners called Court. I sent an email first asking if we could buy a GPX route off him. Bette...

Re: South America Advice Wanted
Hi My wife and I are in Ecuador at the moment. Talking to the locals the weather in Columbia and Ecuador are pretty much the same all year round - you can certainly ride all year round as it’s warm/hot so you’ll soon dry off when you get wet and you will get wet, at some stage, all year round. We ta...

Re: Imagine if you had no mechanical knowledge
I know a guy who did a couple of bike service training days - oils, plugs, brake pads/fluid and valve clearances - so a standard 1200 mile service. It was on oil cooled boxer engines so easy to work on. He charged a set fee, can’t remember but not much considering how much you could save. Anyone on ...

Re: Never Satisfied?
I think when people are dissatisfied with something or someone then they’re really unsatisfied with themselves or their lives. Any bike can do anything with the right rider - all combinations have been done: RTW - moped, scooter, R1, GS etc Off road - ride round Africa, Asia or Central America and y...

Re: NEW Honda XL750 Transalp LAUNCHED
Problem with this bike is that if Honda had made what people expected it to be, sub 200kg T7 killer, then it would have been running rings around it's big brother. Interesting but I never thought it would be in competition with the T7. In the adventure market Yamaha and Honda have always been diffe...

Re: BMW F800GS...am I missing the obvious?
I’m recently back from a Nairobi - Cape Town jaunt on my 850. It coped with everything remarkably well, including the corrugated and sandy Namibian gravel roads and some tough, broken roads in South Africa, including Die Hell. Bike coped admirably, though it does have a full Tractive suspension pac...
