Re: Soft Adventure panniers with strap fastners?
Thanks everyone, Fair few option to consider, I do have access to the cheaper Lomo panniers but was worried about reports of them splitting, I guess having a extra strap around the frame and bag would help but then a fair bit of faffing to fit and remove.. I really like the Mosko moto stuff but it i...

Soft Adventure panniers with strap fastners?
Ok, On the old GS I currently I currently have a Givi PL189 pannier rack, I am getting everything in place for a up and coming trip this summer and I am after some soft adventure type panniers. Basically I have used Alu Hepco boxes in the past but sadly they halfway around the world in the Caribbean...
Re: Mallorca
Great input, thanks guys . How about off tarmac? Any trails/maps or gpx tracks? Whilst it is not something I have looked into previous I would not think of Mallorca when looking for off road trails, the issues you have is that a lot of the outdoor areas can be well used by cyclist/Mountain Bikers, ...

Re: Never gonna buy a honda again
Why do you lot take dealer finance .... HP or PCP??? A bank loan is half the Apr generally and you can exactly what you want with the bike and do as many miles as you want Dunno why you lot fall for it [emoji43] I must say I am of the same mindset, paying x amount for a bike then being limited with...

Re: Never gonna buy a honda again
ethanol was a US invention to give the central US "corn" growers a market--you ought to see the plants in Illinois and the barges full of the stuff ready for processing!--it contains its own oxygen--hence the lower calorific value and its effect on tanks and the like. I'm just resurrectin...
Re: Mallorca
I have cycled thousands of miles in Mallorca and it certainly is a Island of two landscapes, the south is fairly flat and as stated the North is where the mountain range is. I personally would tend to stay in Soller in the north, nice little town with a good India restaurant ;) . I think the main ro...

Re: Routes from UK-Russia and Kazahkstan
Any specifics, just ask. My paperwork was in order, no border hassles at all Tar for the info, I do not foresee any issues with paperwork although I have been told I need a immigration card due to being half cockney, (I jest of course). I think I will let the folks at "Visa Machine" sort ...

Re: KTM 390 adventure
I really think that trying to spec it to cope with serious hard trail work is missing the point--it would end up as too expensive and too tall--and only suit a small number of dedicated offroaders. Judging by the kind of bikes that people ride around the world and on the TET etc I think it would be...

Re: Routes from UK-Russia and Kazahkstan
Weather wise, would you be better going a southern route on the way there in May/June - not as hot as July/August in Turkey. Maybe there’s not that much difference? Thank for the info, To be honest heat really is not a issue for me, I would normally be cycling out in Asia on a extended holiday each...
