I use a garmin 765t. Cost 39 quid off e bay. Same as the 660 but not waterproof. Charger connection cost £15. Waterproof case £20 with ram female mount attached. Ram male mount £10. get a honda cbf 600, or 1000. Reading your post, you need a smaller and lighter bike. 990 not really much different ot a GS in the size, management sense. Go for a 600. maybe a Suzuki 650

Agree, the UK tourism agencies do a fabulous job advertising this fine land. But I do find it cramped, small, over populated and all roads are too short! not to mention pot holed. Away from London, to North it does get better...but you have too get there!
