Re: One man adventure
Pat that kit list is fantastic, probably the most useful thing I've seen so far, I will add silk bag liner to my list, a small tarp to go between tent and bike, and make sure I go through the tools and first aid stuff too. I'm travelling in Europe in June so I won't need quite so much stuff. I haven...

Re: One man adventure
Hi Pat, Thanks for all the info, I will purchase a spork and see if I like it. My first precamp stop is in a B&B near Dover so I won't need it until I am camping near Bruge, will I find Decathlon in Belgium? That said leaving home, let alone leaving this green and pleasant land without a towel f...

Hey Tony,
When I got back to camp and opened the bottle I was imediately reminded of several bottles of cheap tequila, gin and vodka I purchase in Portugal circa 1994 and brought home. My liver has never forgiven me...

Re: One man adventure
Hola Simon, Thats where I keep my emergecy fluff... I am a hobby smoker rather than a addict, in fact my father just gave me some pipe tabacco so I might hunt the briar out tonight... I had a fantastic hour in France trying to explain to various shop assistants what I was after, once I'd remembered ...

Re: Ouch!
Just get a little tank bag for the stuff you need to get to quickly, and strap a decent rucksack to the pillion seat/rack. That is a very good plan, I was considering just a duffle bag with built in shoulder straps as proper backpacks are usually covered in straps that can flap etc. Does anyone hav...

Re: One man adventure
Yes I have one and very much enjoy searching for natural fluffy materials to light with it. I've never got a trangia going with one though. Lucky I smoke so I am never far from a lighter.

Re: One man adventure
As they are only a couple of quid I might just pick up and drop off as and when requested. Often campsite have lost property and abandoned stuff that you can borrow if you are polite enough

[quote="The Spanish Biker" post=218775Hi Bren, Could you post a link to your camping topic for me? Meanwhile, you've got a bit out of kilter with the majority opinion regarding leaving the bike safely - one of the problems with soft luggage is that you keep having to load and unload all of...

Re: Ouch!
The money I've spent of reducing pack size and weight is better spent than on even more luggage in my view - if you can't pack it in a small, light space maybe you shouldn't be packing it at all! Just my two penno'th Regs Simon I second this, if you have seen my camping kit topic I am investing in ...
