Re:What would your partner say if....

Call me a "home boy" if you will, but having had to be away from home for many months at a time in different parts of the world, being apart from family is not fun for me. Re:Panniers: Useful or a pain in the arse?

I've always used either soft or hard luggage on my bikes, depending on either what I can afford or what they come fitted with. With the Vara however, I got the opportunity to make up my own using some "donated" Peli cases . . Front view http://www.xrv.org.uk/photopost/data/500/medium/Front_View_Both...

Nice one Jim. 1st picture - Opposite bank from Cragganmore distillery, on the Tulcan estate side, if I'm not mistaken. 2nd picture - the hills behind Knockandu. Did you, perchance, wander onto the logging road that they are using to extract the timber? Mid way between Dallas & Knockandu. Did a bit o...

Re:Fuel economy on a big trip

Did exactly the same last year when I went through France to the south of Spain - 3.5k+ miles cost me £338 for 353 lts of fuel, using a 1999 Varadero.

Not bad for a fat bird, I thought
