Re: Beware lomo shit panniers...

I haven't bought the panniers.....I've still got luggage coming out of my ears but I did buy a wet suit a couple of weeks back. It started separating the first time I used it at various joins.....no I'm not a fat whale  I contacted them & they gave me a free return which they received Thurs, I...

Re: Annual insurance trawl...

CN last year £127 fully comp, this years renewal £186  . Phoned them up, "best we can do is £156" :| . CN online quote £128  . That is unfortunately industry standard, my step daughter worked for a call centre for a while, the online quotes for 'new business' are heavily discounted & t...

Re: Travel partner/s for euro bike trip wanted

I want abroad as recently had my mum die and my gf split 2 weeks later with me so I need to get away really from it all. Sean Sorry to hear but sometimes life just kicks you in the nuts all at once. Personally I'd work out how much time & cash I had to do it with & just head off on my own, seeing w...

Re: Honda CRF250 Rally – best mods / upgrades

OK Chaps, And perhaps put on it a Giant Loop grand basin luggage set ( https://www.adventure-spec.com/default/giantloop-great-basin-saddlebag-roll-top.html ) with a rolltop bag on passenger seat, is that ok? Obviously, with a small bike, you want to travel light! I just wondered if there were any s...

Re: Solo touring and off road (e.g. tet), small ADV bike suggestions

I've not ridden the rally but have the 2014 & also demo'd the AT, ignoring the obvious differences (both are built to a completely different price point, so suspension, goodies etc) the fundamental differences are weight, comfort, acceleration and top speed. Personally top speed for me is irrelevant...

Re: Solo touring and off road (e.g. tet), small ADV bike suggestions

To be fair to the 250 CRF it's only called underpowered by the same people that class the AT as the same. I've ridden mine to Cornwall, Cumbria & Wales a few times from London & there's people travelling the world on them. It will comfortably chug along at 60mph with spare for overtakes, like the H...
