Re: For those who compete on two wheels in Europe

Rob Andrews 'The Inside Line' is quite interesting on the subject. Racing in pre-1992 Europe, he had to have carnets for his race bikes. Typically, he'd have five bikes at the start of the season...and it made life a lot easier if they 'shared' frame numbers so the same carnet could be used througho...

Re: Britain looking to start the next chapter

The Union Jack will impress the foreigners, and you can look at it if you have to wait for an ambulance. It will help you keep a stiff upper lip instead of blubbing like a girl in front of the chaps. Chin up everyone, and think of the empire!

Re: For those who compete on two wheels in Europe

I suppose discussions about financial regulations probably belong in a different thread. This is about another, to most of us unforeseen consequence of Brexit. The relatively small number of people who will suffer as a direct consequence might seem insignificant, however I would assume that somethi...

Re: For those who compete on two wheels in Europe

It's not a new thing. Carnets are required by global travellers in some countries even for registered vehicles. The purpose is to prevent the sale of the vehicle 'in country' without import duty being paid. The UK didn't have a registration scheme/requirement for lorry trailers, so pre 1993 every Br...

Re: For those who compete on two wheels in Europe

Re: For those who compete on two wheels in Europe

Well, the good thing is. it will make the export of stolen bikes more difficult.

Re: Small, light bike to practice trails

If you can find one, consider an AJP. I went out with a group of riders in Wales...mostly experienced middle-aged blokes with KTMs etc. The run leader had organised it as an 18th birthday outing for his lad...who had an AJP 125. He proceeded to literally run rings around us all. It was like a sheepd...

Re: Other Stuff

On the subject of BSA...here's a hero on a Bantam at last year's Exeter Trial. He's ridden that thing through the the winter night...and got it further up the hill than some bloke who had interrupted the trial on his KTM EXC had managed earlier...and that's with the enforced 'stop' https://www.youtu...
