Re: The RE Himalayan ...

Have I missed something here? OP asks about pros/cons of a Himalayan and shortly after buys an FJ13...

I'll just say that I'm enjoying bike, only 6 months and 2000 miles in.

Re: Go Big and Ride Small

The guy who runs Andy's Workshop Services (Andy!) has a GN250 converted to green lane use, a very nice looking bike, think he's also changed the forks, possibly using YZ forks.

Re: BMW F800gt

I had an F800GT for the last 4 years, recently changed for a Himalayan. GT is a great bike for single rider touring and commuting, does everything well, lovely smooth drive train, economical. Downsides are the standard seat is a PITA, much better with air hawk or comfort seat (I have one for sale :)...

Re: What does this sign mean?

Thanks all, as snaf mk2 pointed out it is an official Dorest County Council sign, but I wasn't sure of the meaning, thanks for the clarification, makes sense to me as in it leads to another RoW with an access change. I could join GLASS or rejoin the TRF (from many years ago), but I really just want ...

What does this sign mean?

Out today to check out some of the lanes around me, I came across two which are marked at UCRs on the councils highways map, definitely there as UCR's , not that you'd have any idea on the ground, each has this signage, which sounds ambiguous... apologies for sideways view, some able to rotate it? I...

Re: There’s an app for that!

Try this, works for me with BOATs and other RoW if that's your interest, but I've not found a way of showing UCRs/ORPAs...

Ha, of course Chris :)

I'll try and find out from the TRF, there are some really excellent UCRs about, very clever I think on the part of the county council as effectively the green lanes are hidden in plain sight.

Dorset Unclassified County Roads

Anyone here from Dorset able to confirm that the Purbeck Ridgeway route is legitimate? I've looked at the definative map online and checked against Google maps (where it does not appear as a road), but according to the def map it's a legitimate green lane to ride. It's that shown in light blue, BOAT...

Quiet here

I've returned to the ABR forum after a while away, seems much quieter here than the 'old days' when the forum first started, have people gone elsewhere or just post less?
