Re: New Restrictions....Only one bike per Household.

Fully agree, F800GS. It will do the long miles (with an aftermarket seat ...), can load even more than the big GS and will do the offroading bit too (but leave the wet mud out and leave the luggage at the campsite ... and don't go alone as you will need help to pick the bike up...). But as you said,...

Re: Zeebrugge > Cochem splitting the journey

I've done part of your route this summer and I would recommend to start your mosel tour in Trier, then stay on the right side of the Mosel, stop at Beilstein, take the ferry over to the other side and then towards Cochem. There is a Biker friendly b&b in Klotten (next village past Cochem) Gastha...

Re: Advice Needed: IAM or ROSPA ?

Not totally right ... The local group receives £31 of the Skills for Life fee and it is recommended that the observer should receive a "voluntary donation" of £10 from the candidate for each ride they do to to cover expenses, it is up to the observer if they accept it, many don't.

Re: Advice Needed: IAM or ROSPA ?

There are plenty of ex police officer who rode bikes for a living who will take others out and ride at different speeds and conditions then pass on better advise than the average IAM observer can because they've done it day in and day out under a lot more pressure and in my opinion have earned the ...

Re: Camelbak pak

I got mine from a guy selling army surplus stock at my local car boot for £15. They are original camel back army version and come with a quality mouthpiece and neopren sleeve. To keep it cool I make sure I use water from the fridge and add ice cubes. I even used ice blocks and asked to put them into...

Re: RAC cover on my Tigger

Not directly related to the question but I've been with the RAC for many years now after the AA refused to help following a pothole blowout ... they argued this was a roadside accident and therefore chargeable. Called RAC who said that they cover this in their policy. Took out a policy that day as i...
