Re: Annual insurance trawl...
I would never use CN again.A couple of years ago I took out a new policy with them after getting a reasonable quote. After sending in my previous renewal notice as proof of NCB I get a letter back saying they are increasing my premium by £60 as I wasn't truthful about the price of my renewal quote. P...

Re: Scotland trip advice
I'd agree with not getting hung up on the NC500.For me a perfect trip would be from Perth-Inverness on www.snowroads.com , miss out the east coast of NC500 and go through Bonar Bridge,Lairg to Tongue. The mileage saved there I would put to a lap of Skye then back down the A82 through Glencoe. Re: Helmet life in storage.
...does anyone really think that a 500£ helmet is going to save you, over a 50£ helmet at 100 mph? ... Price long ago stopped being a measure of quality or worth [for anything]. A £50 helmet has to pass the same safety tests as £500 helmet.Saying that,I like Shoei's for their fit and comfort but I ...

Re: Just a thought what's the furthest north anyone has been on a bike?????
We rode up to the Artic Circle last July and had a wild camp about 20 miles in before having to turn back and head for home.I'm not really interested in going to Nordkapp just to ride back down the same road but if the Scotland-Norway ferry ever comes back, which is being talked about,I'd love to go ...

I've just booked 4 nights in Carcassonne for a cheap break in September.I'd like to hire a small bike or scooter to keep the cost down if anyone knows where I could get one.Cheers.

Re: Route advice please - Eastern France to the Med
+1 for Castellane. I rode down through the Vecours and based myself there for 5 days before returning home roughly following the Route Des Grande Alps. Great riding in that area. Gorge de Dalius and Gorge du Cians were two of my favourites, a lot quieter than Gorge du Verdon. FB_IMG_1544685572451.jp...

Re: Wood gives me wood
I work for a firm that make timber framed kit houses. It's a bit boring but I can't leave because I haven't had to buy any firewood for my log burner for about 8 years now!
