Following an attempted theft of my bike in the early hours of this morning rendering the ignition barrel non-functional, I'm going to have to pull out of this one.

So the answer to my question is yes! Some of that would take too long for me to learn and implement before the trip. I'm suprised readers are smart enough for those apps. The nook simple touch appears to have quite a following with glider pilots as a nice, easy to read screen for navigation use. The iPhone does not have a satellite gps receiver, it works out were it is from phone masts and WIFI, thats why when you go into settings and switch Wifi off you get a message saying that positional accuracy will be reduced, with an iPad without sim card the unit will simply not know where it is, y...
