IIRC it will cover medical costs but not repatriation.

Medical care is covered. You don't have to have medical insurance, you might get better care if you do though.
My kids have to have the card when they travel abroad with scouts but I've never been asked for their health insurance details.

Slovakia is excellent - head East and explore the Tatra mountains on the border with Poland Cross over into Zakopane +1 ;) lovely castles in the mountains! We found a toboggan run, riding down the road and there it was! Needless to say we stopped and played for a while :P Lovely country, nice bikin...

Kev was booked into the Yamaha off road school in Wales for a weekend in January, it was then cancelled due to the snow! The new dates are the 11,12 may!

We'll hopefully make next years
