Anybody on here going to the Stella Alpina Rally? Weekend of the 7th and 8th July.
I've done a trawl through the site and it doesn't seem to be mentioned this year.
Has anybody been before and is it worth going? I've got a weeks pass to go away and this is an option.
Cheers
Wayne

Re: Plans for 2018
There may be a change in work for me next year so things are up in the air at the mo. However I did promise myself that next year regardless of what happens I will either go to the Pyrenees as I've never been or Austria and Slovenia. I've barely touched Austria in the past and Slovenia looks lovely ...

Re: Comfy seat
I had a 1200 Multistrada and that was all day comfortable. I then went to a 650 Versys and couldn't do any longer than 40 miles in the saddle. I was literally getting off in pain. I sold it not long after and got the Versys 1000 which was almost as good as the Multistrada. I've just ordered a new Ve...

Re: East Anglia
Depending on where you are coming from I would advise you get to Kings Lynn and head up the coast from there towards Hunstanton. Carry on the coast road and it will take you through some lovely seaside villages and towns like Cley next the sea, Wells, Stifkey etc. Personally I love Cromer and there'...

Re: The First Bike You Bought
I was in the Army posted in Germany and came back to Ashford in Kent to do my Direct Access in 2000. When I passed I went straight back to Germany and ordered a new Honda CBR600FY. I shit my pants when I first took it on the autobahn! It's a bit more accelerative than a Suzuki GS500...

Re: Middleweight adventure bike advice..
So after my original email on this topic I've ridden all 3 middle weight adventure bikes in this class and here's my opinions on them. Firstly I rode the Versys 650 and liked it. I used to have a Versys a few years ago before they updated and didn't get on with it, but this felt far better. The vibr...

Re: Africa Twin..considering buying
I am looking at changing my 2 bikes in the next few months as well. The best advice I could give is ride as many as possible, don't just narrow you're search to a couple of bikes. Not only would it give you more options but it means riding loads of different bikes for fun which is never a bad thing....

Re: Middleweight adventure bike advice..
I test rode the V Strom 1000 a couple of years ago when the new one came out and was very impressed. Comfortable with loads of low down torque. It's relatively light aswell so handled well from what I can remember. The only reason I bought the Versys 1000 was the deals they were offering at the time....

Re: Middleweight adventure bike advice..
I already have a naked bike, a triumph street triple which I use for fun. This is also going but will be replaced by another naked bike as I want a change. The main point of me wanting an adventure styled bike is purely for comfort as I tour a couple of times a year and potentially getting from a to...

Middleweight adventure bike advice..
So my circumstances are going to change, probably in the New Year with regards to work. (finances) I currently have a BMW GSA 1200 TE on a 16 plate and I'm going to change it for something worth probably half that. So my current thinking at the moment is Yamaha Tracer 700 as the MT range get crackin...
