Re: A new problem has appeared.

I've done a lot of miles this year and the shear ignorance and lack of respect from other road users is quite something. To hear the same on this forum is not surprising but allows me to form my own opinion of some of you in reverse ;)

Re: Bmw new no maintemce chain

Some years back I experimented with different chain oiling methods. Proper chain lube, a drip feed oil system, and simple WD40. All methods gave identical (o-ring) chain and sprocket life, and not surprisingly WD-40 was a hell of a lot cleaner. This is trail riding with quite a bit of road mixed in,...

Re: Clutch help

In my experience a significant amount of clutch issues are caused by the cable. Anything apart from a fresh OEM cable will not work properly, the usual problem of not being able to select neutral easily as the clutch is not releasing correctly. And/or less than smooth operation. Not sure if this is ...

Re: Anyone heard from Garyboy?

Ah I did not appreciate Wales is still tightly locked-down, but looking better for Monday then? A 5 mile radius would be quite stifling and is not much on a bike that's for sure, I can see why you are fed up.... During our lock-down my daily bike ride kept me sane, we were officially allowed an hour...

Re: Anyone heard from Garyboy?

Sorry to hear that Gary, best not to dwell on the news too much and just get out and ride, if you can. I've lost track of what the situation is in Wales? We are pretty much open in England, or at least we can ride as much as we like. Of course, unless you are a teenager, its sensible not to mingle c...

Re: Work Case #19 Honda CRF250R MX

Ah, yes, modern engines do bring some very complicated problems with them - I too had a new German car about 15 years ago that would "hiccup" in certain driving conditions that the dealer could never reproduce, until I managed to demonstrate it to the service manager. They resolved it eventually wit...

Re: Work Case #19 Honda CRF250R MX

Useful link thanks steve the grease. I left the company a while back so this particular problem is fortunately not my concern anymore ... Interestingly some of the more basic "power boost" plugs use a simple resistor/thermistor to fool the bike's ECU into thinking the outside temperature is cooler t...

Work Case #19 Honda CRF250R MX

Previous #18 TE450 Work Case #19 Honda CRF250R MX ------------------------------ The Honda MX bikes are fuel injected, and at the time just kick start with no battery, so how exactly did that all work then?! :o Well, somehow it did and only a kick or two would provide enough electrical power to fir...
