I picked up an 07 GSA a few weeks ago with just 7000 miles on it. I've been through it fully, it's now had every item serviced, new pads, fresh oils, valves done etc and it rides beautifully.
The Yam is not a flat out road bike/tourer though is it? So criticism about it's relatively modest horses is kind of moot really. It's a bike to ride offroad or certainly 50/50 whereas other large adv bikes are really generally found on the road, let' face it. I can't wait to try one, I reckon at th...

Some of my favourite lanes there. The yam looks great.
You'd be far better with a KTM 450 from MY12 to MY15. Not big money, extremely reliable. Parts no problem. RFS were great, yes, but parts now very scarce, and the later engine is better. If you think you need a 500 then fair play to you.

Why do so many people want to go to applecross? There are a hundred other more interesting places in Scotland which are more fun to get to but Applecross always gets mentioned. It's like the Benidorm of so called adv rider trips
