Re: Wet weather trousers
Apart from about an inch around the neck (needs a storm collar for heavy weather) my Klim Latitude suit kept me perfectly dry through 12 hours of torrential rain in France last year - including where it matters most - which was a welcome surprise (tbh I was half expecting some leakage, but no, nothi...

Re: Waterproof bike boots.
I love my Forma Adventures - not the cheapest around, but not the most expensive either. Good balance of comfort and protection I think - if you are not going to be doing any serious off road stuff. Smart, comfy, dry - and not too mad to have a walk in either - plus I like how planted my foot feels ...

Re: What was your first motorcycle trip abroad?
1st ride abroad for me was a trip through France to my eldest sisters place near Alicante using a new to me XL1000V Varadero . . . . . . 1st contact with the Med at St Feliu de Guixols Day-4--The-Mediteranean.jpg Ah - we adore St Feliu, so much so that we bought a house there! Not sure it´ll happen...

Re: What was your first motorcycle trip abroad?
Over to Ireland probably, a few times in my late teens and early 20's on various 125s - probably an AR125 was the first. Then Ireland on a CB550SC, later in my 20's, which I also took to France and Spain.

Re: ABR Ireland 2024
Hey Flinty - that's a great choice of location (as usual). As well as the WAW itself, I remember a great run just north of there over the Caha pass, with an amazingly sweeping N71 down the other side. For those landing at Rosslare, factor in the gold coast road between Waterford and Dungarvan - was ...

Re: Adventure overland and camper event.
Thanks for the nudge.
I went last year and it was a nice event - and an amazing deal. Not going to make it this year, but if anyone is at a loose end, I can think of a lot worse places to be... Some of the overland trucks were quite impressive bits of kit.
Get's my thumbs up.

Re: ABR Festival 2023
Just arrived back in Barcelona after the ride home from the festival weekend. Shame I couldn't hang around on the Sunday, perhaps next year (tickets booked aleady), but great to meet up with so many mates in one place, with good food, great music, amazing coffee (off road bean's flat white never cea...
