Re: Speed camera vans
Anyone know what happens after been zapped if you stop under the bridge for a couple of minutes? Or on a road if you simply stop and turn around? Anyone done this? A piece of clothing also could accidentally fall over the number plate tempererally. Oops. I know it's not really fair rules of engagem...

Re: Speed camera vans
I took a car allowance in November and have replaced my company 320d with a Golf GT with a DSG auto gearbox and adaptive cruise control. Now I just set the cruise control and it follows the traffic all the way down the A1 to London. It's a lot more relaxing, but takes all the fun out of driving :bl...

Re: Speed camera vans
Ride everywhere on a dirt bike with a muddy plate? Make sure it is wet, so the cops can just ask you to clean the "fresh mud" off.... A farm style 4WD also works ;-) Or no plate, just double sided sticky pads. Ooops! It was there when I got on the bike. Of course I'll get a new one and ta...

Re: Speed camera vans
Yes passed one of the "British Gas" vans other day on a classic "By-Pass" at 65mph that is not technically marked with repeaters in that section any more for over a mile but reduced from " national speed limit" to a 60 about a mile further back.So technically a grey ar...

Re: Speed camera vans
When asked yesterday what I'd do to avoid me repeating my speeding offence, I said "Download a decent audio book before I leave" I hope he had a sense of humour....? I have had 2 reports of a local "speed and safety course" trainer being an absolute dick! :( Two presenters, man ...

Re: Speed camera vans
The M74 always has a scamera van on a bridge somewhere along its length. I drive up there on business on a semi-regular basis and just set the cruise control to 72mph (70 on the GPS), sit back and listen to the radio (thumbs) My tactic now too. I never speed in any limit with a red ring around it a...

Re: Speed camera vans
It depends on the van. Many of them now have a second camera to pick up motorcycle number plates. Some are no more sophisticated than a man sticking a camera on a tripod though a window and the van is just acting as transport and a shelter. On a wide motorway bridge when they are parked next to the ...
