Re: 3k to spend. What would you buy?

I bought an RE trials - the older type with separate gear box round the wrong way. IT is blood y awful to ride but in a perverse way I really enjoy it. Dead slow, cheap to run and easy to fix. Got a lovely lazy sound to it and is perfect for just bumbling around on. It is so far removed from modern ...

Re: Bike on SORN

Me too. Had two in the last week so I concluded that there is an auto check in place that flags up a vehicle that has a valid MOT and is insured but not currently taxed.

Re: MOTs for Bikes In France? Non!

Good debate people, I am not saying I disagree with having an inspection at all, in fact it gives me a bit of confidence that my own spannering is up to a good level. Perhaps my view is tainted by the small biker community I ride with who all have immaculately turned out machines. As with all things...

Re: MOTs for Bikes In France? Non!

Sounds logical to me, makes me wonder why need an MOT in the UK. I think 99% of people who own and ride bikes over here look after them to a point where they are spotless. Rare to meet a biker that doesn't have a good grasp of machine mechanical safety. Common sense says it will hurt you if left una...

When was the last time you inspected

YOURSELF? but I bet you looked at your bike or thought about the next adventure today....... With no embarrassment and hopefully a little humor, I post this in the hope that after reading it, if just one of you ladies and gents undertakes a self inspection, notices something different and picks up t...

Re: Other Stuff

I have added Royal Enfield 350 bullet trials variant to the list of bikes. This is the 2008 pre unit construction lump so essentially a 1950s bike built in India in 2007. What a delight to ride. Limited power but perfectly acceptable on the back lanes. Nothing like anything I've ridden previously, g...

Re: Your Covid Experience

Good question - I will give a view Direct COVID illness - unaffected thankfully. Indirect illness - definitely bordered on depression occasionally from a previously normal healthy position, that was unexpected. I suspect those that plan 24hours ahead are less affected but I plan six months plus ahea...
