I have during a Rally when I forgot to do up the filler cap.
Not an experience I would want to repeat.
I don't have b0llocks to worry about so I always sit on the bike. Well I did until I got a BMW with the petrol tank in a strange place anyway.

Me me! Quite new to the diving (PADI advanced open water, not many dives logged yet), but I'd definitely be interested. Let me know what you're planning :cheer:

Re: Bike clothing in HOT weather, what do you wear?

The chap we stayed with in Mallorca had a Dainese jacket which was basically just cordura mesh with body armour, but also had another layer to go on the top when colder / wet - seemed like a good idea to me :) +1 for what Lizzie says about wicking t-shirts. Decathlon do a good one for not very much ...

Re: Whats your bike missing

The F650GS single is seriously lacking places to attach bungees. I suppose they expect everybody to use BMW panniers and top box, but I usually just want to strap the waterproof bag to the back.

Re: Cold callers

They often start the call with 'how are you today?', so I've decided that I'm going to start telling them. In great detail. And make it up if I need to.

Unfortunatly I haven't had any calls since deciding this :( Are they psychic or something?

Re: Advise on aTrip to Bourg Saint Maurice, France. And St Bernard Passes.

We stayed at Camping le Reclus in Seez on the way back from the Stella Alpina in 2007, It's at the foot of the Petit St Bernard pass. Decent facilities, and loads of other bikes there the night we stayed. http://www.campinglereclus.com/indexflash.html Col De L'Iseran is worth doing - if only to find...

Re: Derbyshire trails

I think the wording of the policy is actually misleading. Yes, it sounds supportive but the problem is going to be the definition of keeping conflict to a minimum and unacceptable detrimental effect on communities. There are plenty of nimbys that just don't want any vehicles on green lanes anywhere...
