Re: The Royal Enfield Himalayan ,great value.

Well worth doing that I'd say, partially seized steering is no fun...….luckily the inherent stability and low CofG of the Himalayan help avoid catastrophe in that situation!

Re: The Royal Enfield Himalayan ,great value.

Mine lives outdoors and has never had any condensation in the instruments; I don't know if that makes a difference...…..I have got knackered head bearings though, started to feel wrong by about 9000mls. Hopefully all these warranty claims will result in the lads on the production line getting a bit ...

Re: The Royal Enfield Himalayan ,great value.

Well, I'm pretty sure most of us who bought one will confirm that these bikes ARE "great value" as suggested in the thread title. I've done about 9000 miles so far, and at about 70mpg on fuel, negligible oil consumption, about 120 quid for dealer services, and 8000+ miles from a rear tyre (somewhat ...

Re: The Royal Enfield Himalayan ,great value.

Yep, agree with that dubber68. Not sure how much of a headwind you were up against; my Himalayan holds 70 ok, but I grant you there's not much left at that speed against the wind! I think the bike meets the concept/design brief RE were aiming for pretty well, and at a reasonable price. Each to their ...

Re: The Royal Enfield Himalayan ,great value.

I've done a couple of thousand road miles now, and generally can't fault the bike. 1st service was just under a hundred quid, no problems apart from standard stuff like punctures! The rear wheel is a bit of a faff to get back on compared with some bikes, but at least it has a decent centre stand ...

Re: The Royal Enfield Himalayan ,great value.

Just picked up mine yesterday, and looking forward to completing the tedious running-in process. So far very pleased with look and feel of the bike, and glad I haven't gone for something heavier or indeed taller. If well run-in and dosed with the old @Star Tron@ fuel additive, I'm expecting a smooth ...

Another Essex Rider

Hi people; just thought I should join up as I'm picking up a suitable machine in a couple of weeks. Have found the forum and website invaluable over the last few months.....oh yes, the new bike is a Royal Enfield Himalayan, and I'll be taking it up to the top of the Italian Alps the next chance I ...
