Re: Satnav vs Mounted Phone
Think my issue is still when in the wet. My phone does not work nicely when the screen is wet. Starts not complying or doing its own thing… Also seems a bit too small to use with gloves…
But has bn a good back up till now.

Re: Satnav vs Mounted Phone
I tend to use my (android) phone on a vibration reducing Quadlock mount for roadwork as the real time traffic updates & routing are really useful and my Garmin Montana 700 for the rough, bouncy offroad riding.

Re: what have you done to your bike today??
My long awaited HammerLEDs FLex 4 indicators arrived, so I fitted them!
Came with a relay & bike specific connectors, so was painless....

Re: Adventure Bikes Everywhere!
It's a bit sad, really - IMO at least.... fully-loaded, so-called 'adventure' bikes heading to an expensive, commercially-planned show in the UK Midlands! Where's the irony in this? 🙂
It always amazes me just how much stuff people seem take for a few days away.

Re: The RAC and the motorcyclist
AA a couple of years ago - had a puncture on the Pan, you could put your little finger in the hole so it was unpluggable - told the AA this & that it'd need taking home.
They sent a small van to plug it - first thing he said was "you can't plug that"

Re: Biking Brotherhood?
I think you're assuming people know how bikes work. A lot of people just rely on the AA nowadays,
I like to think I'd wander over, but the minute you'd said "electrics" I have buggered off again :D My old Pan was a bloody pain when the electrics started getting shonky & not much fun to troubleshoot ...

Re: 20 MPH default speed limit in Wales
Just did a couple of days through Wales doing the ACT, 20mph is a boring, monotonous grind on a bike. There's no gear it's natural in.
Was a relief to see a 30 mph!!!
The irony was that there were lots of wide, clear 20 mph roads with great visibility for ages, yet the minute you're out of them ...

Re: Smart Phone for GPS?
Every time I go out with someone leading from their Android phone we have little "faff" breaks where we wait for it to connect, the orientation keeps changing, power is dodgy or a dozen other reasons.

I've considered purchasing the Innov system but have backed away as I think they're are a double edged sword So im not sure who they're protecting
It's subtle enough that other people may not notice it, plus your "SD card may have become corrupted" if you don't want to share....
