Re: New Toy.

Re: KLX250, Beta Alp, CRF250L or what, for green lane intro/back roads

I bought the Alp 4.0 in January and am pleased with it. I used it for the Lands End Trial and the only thing to let me down was my ability. Rode 775 miles in 3 days including off road sections overnight. The saddle was getting a bit hard by the end of the homeward leg but the bike performed impeccab...

Re: Recommend a stove

Thanks for the info, trangias where top in my list, but worried meth burners don't have enough poke! Before I upgraded mine to gas, I cooked various meals on meths, high camping in the Lake District or North Wales. Meals included duck a l'orange with new potatoes and runner beans, and pigeon breast...

Re: Recommend a stove

I've used Trangias since 1989 for general camping and mountaineering use in all weathers. I used meths at first, which works well except in freezing conditions when we had the meths (in a Sigg bottle) inside the sleeping bag to keep it warm so it would light. When Trangia brought out a gas burner in...

IJnoGSer,

Have you photoshopped this picture or have you gone down the vinyl wrap route too. It looks very clean.

Re: my new bike for the catalonian HISS

The pictures are really good to see all the fine detail that is going in to the build.

Nice work.

Re: Beta Alp 4.0

There is a low fuel warning light, mine comes on at around 70 miles with sharp braking, and at about 85 miles. I've been a bit scared of going too near empty but I get just over 100 miles to 7 litres (10 litre tank) so I'm guessing I'd get about 140 miles to the tank tops. I've found mine really goo...

Re: Beta Alp 4.0

Hello Harper. I'm new here but have picked up on this thread. I hope you're enjoying your Alp. I think it was mine that you saw on the ramp at Appleby's in Keighly as they were 'prepping' it for me. I've recently completed the Lands End Trial and had a day out in Derbyshire on mine as well as just g...
