Re: Tunnel crossing safety
Watch less news and you'll be fine  Was going back and forth during the height of the crisis two years ago through Dover-Calais and just saw a random fella further down the road crossing the road. They are not interested in bikes and media is just scare mongering. Same with channel tunnel last ...

Re: MT07 scrambler/offroader
looks good, but that all it is, a marketing/bling exercise, not offroader of scrambler. cast wheels, none existing suspension travel, no protection to the _wet_ sump, road bike riding position.... After riding the KTM 1090r I am really confused where all this "adventure sports touring with full...

Re: Bargain quality socket sets
I dont have snap on or any other premium brands, so I use halfords pro myself as its cheap and good enough, and replaced without too much fuss, but I dont think its that great as some of you make it sound. (maybe to take off bike fairing) I only use the tools for my own use in between fixing my bik...

Re: 2012 ktm 990 adventure
Have you considered the 1090R Gaz? Getting great reviews and not much more than the Honda. I strongly recommend to test ride the 1090r thoroughly, before parting with cash. Had the bike for a weekend and to be honest, it was the first KTM which I was disappointed of. The engine feels gutless for a ...

Re: Ducati Multistrada 950
the 950 is just a costed down 1200. had a chance to compare both bikes side by side. apart from uglier wheels, double sided swingarm and a lot of unpainted plastic panels, the rest is pretty much the same, so a lot of 1200 multistrada accessories should fit. have a look at the 1050 tiger sport as we...

Re: money in east europe
Never had issues neither with visa, nor with master card going east. But always go to the main petrol station chains and high street shops. If planning to go somewhere more remote, always take some cash with you. p.s. the only country in Europe I had issues with cards was Germany. Germans seem to be...

Re: Cook, or just heat water?
when travelling throughout Europe last year for the first time I bought trangia small kit to try cooking. Ended up using it very occasionally, to heat some water or food leftovers from the evening on the roadside. Too much faf and still not really cheap. Other than that it is not hard to get a warm ...

Re: Weird wear on rear tube.
Change the tube. Had the same issue happening to me when I had tubeless bridgestones on my old honda. The ridges wore into the tube, until the thinnest one gave up at 11pm on friday in Clapham High street. Drunk aussies had some entertainment. Some tubeless tyres have ridges inside and wear through ...

Re: 20,000 km's on a CCM GP450
from what I've read so far, it resembles me two friends I have, whom were riding roads bikes all their life, and decided to get a pair of dirt bikes, sit down on them and off they go to the adventure like nothing changed. Single cylinder bikes being bashed offroad need a completely different mindset...

Re: London, unsafe and getting worse.
London boroughs were always the worst for bike thefts. One in three bikes in London are either stolen or targeted. There was a statistics published by the police or insurance a couple of years ago. Just because a few punters listed about their theft experiences on the facebook, does not mean suddenl...
