Re: computers and bike trip planning imbalance.

I would avoid all that Garmin Pfaff and download MapsMe or CoPilot and use on your device of choice.

Garmin are still as user unfriendly as when I used to waste hours of my life with a StreetPilot!

Re: Max gear weight for soft pannier

Does anyone take any notice of the really low limits put on their bags by BMW.? The limits are there to limit liability, both in terms of what the panniers themselves can take, the rear subframe which takes the load and the effect that carrying 45kgs on the back of your bike might have on handling a...

Re: KTM 790R Adventure price

You can blame Brexit. European bikes are obviously priced in € Japanese bikes built for Europe are also priced in €. Remember that if you buy the comms kite at the same time as the helmet, then you don't have to Pay VAT on the Comms kit.

Helped a bit to ease the pain at Dick Lovett's in Bristol. Pickup the helmet this week

Re: Finance's on your travels

I have used fairfx for a number of years, you preload with euros at the day’s rate, I tend to load it over the winter whoever the rate is good, saves cash for the summer......so at the moment I’ll load it whenever I can get over 1.13 euros per £. ( a few years ago it was over 1.30). Oh well I have a...

Re: Morocco

I have been a couple of times with Chris Scott, his trips are based out of Marrakech, in November when the weather is really pleasant in southern Morocco, using rental bikes (usually XR250 Honda’s, but could be BMW 310s this year). This gets you the best of the weather without having to ride across ...

Re: Tips for boarder controls

Boarder controls....be relaxed, be patient, don’t lose your cool, smile even.......assume people understand English even If they don’t let on, so no smart arse remarks. I was in customs in Medillin, trying to get my bike into the country, there was a German guy there going in the opposite direction,...
