I wonder what the cheapest channel route is... ferry at night, out of season? .. or just take the Chunnel by rail, strapped to the chassis (the bike i mean lol) . cheap cheap cheap ..... just like me lol. DFDS from Newhaven to Dieppe, £37.50 each way in June/July and if you're over 60 and call them...

Yes, they'll work fine. I had the large black panniers on my F800GT. The fixing is quite neat and unobtrusive. Same pannier I think as the XR bikes and a couple of others, check on realoem for the part numbers to cross reference.

Tent campers are endangered species. We are very few left. Only some old elephants that have not understand to die or quit. => The camping sites are made for mobile homes/caravans. I camped on my way out and back when travelling in France last month, the municipal campsites were wonderful, all around 7/8 euro per night, close to town, good facilities, so about £6/7 as a solo traveller. On the whole cheaper to take a ferry to France for a couple of week's camping.
