Description:
This is an attempt by me to start up a regular meet in Kent for any South East/South Londoners to meet up in a pub, talk bikes. We can even do evening rideouts or Sunday rideouts. Anyone welcome, I have started with an off-on road rideout and now have it logged into memorymap. Will attempt to sort out some road ride outs as well. I will do seperate 1 off ride outs upon request if i am asked for beginners, if you are not sure what to expect from a Green lane in Kent or nervous. I will show you, they are easy but fun and you don't need knobbles, in the summer Sexysi

As the title says. Meet up at the Plough in Eynsford at 18:30 will probably be out for at least 3 Hrs and then hit the pub somewhere for a quick drink and a packet of crisps. Expect to get home in the dark, just about 11ish. Will probably do at least 8-10 byways and their difficulty will depend on who turns, up on what and how much off road riding they have done. tried a lot of the trails out recently and a lot are bone dry, so knobblies no really needed. si

Free event on adventure motorcycling at the University of Kent

Adventure motorcycling: the impact on mind and body

Professor Samuele Marcora will announce the results of his research into the physiological and psychological demands of adventure motorcycling at a public event on Thursday 12 June at the University of Kent’s Chatham Maritime campus.

Professor Marcora, who is a keen motorcyclist and Research Director at the University’s School of Sport and Exercise Sciences based at the campus, will present the findings of his research conducted last year on his scientific motorcycle expedition from London to Beijing.

The marathon bike ride, running from April-July 2013, saw Professor Marcora use himself and fellow bikers on the Globebusters’-organised adventure ride to measure how the gruelling conditions affected physical and mental performance. The research findings will include details of the effects of using caffeine to reduce fatigue in motorbike riders.

‘Adventure motorcycling: the impact on mind and body’, which will take place from 7-9pm at the Pilkington Lecture Theatre, Chatham Maritime, on 12 June. As well as the presentation of the research findings and a Q&A session, the evening will feature a screening of the Globebusters’ film ‘The Ride-London to Beijing’.

Places at the event are free and open to all but limited in number. To register and reserve a place, see: https://alumni.kent.ac.uk/events/adventure-motorcycling-june-2014

Hi Sexysi

the Tenere is still in Italy, but if the ride you are planning is all road, then I can use my SMT. It would be nice to meet

Alright guys, just thought I would shove a post up, been very quiet at the mo, decorating.......again. Just fancied a quick ride on a Sunday in the next couple of weeks. Road this time.

Maybe from somewhere like eynsford, then pilgrims way(Rd) down to Wrotham, then 7 mile lane down towards Yalding etc then across to headcorn, tenterden and then rye.

Probably a couple of hundred miles round trip. Get some chips at Rye, with a pint of coke, look at the boats, maybe go up to Camber sands, for an non seasonal ice cream etc etc and then home again.

Anyone interested?
