TOPIC: Log shed kits

Log shed kits 1 week, 2 days ago #558825

Have a space approx 12ft by 12ft and want to plop a shed of some sort on there. Happy to build a kit but not quite up for building something completely from scratch.

Anybody able to provide and recommendations and experiences? There seems to be a few suppliers and have found one that does a kit with 44mm thick kit which sounds a bit better than the ship lap B&Q jobbies.

You dont mention what areas your from but have a look at local shed build suppliers they will be leaps and bounds in quality over DIY shop jobs and dont go for a metal shed they have condensation issues in the cold weather which will ruin stored gear.

Sorry,

I'm on the Yorkshire/Lancashire border. Will look local but see some good prices online too. Defo not going down the metal route.

A bit out of your way, but Oakenclough Buildings in Garstang do a large variety of substantial sheds.

Consider what base you'll need.
If you just want a timber "Shed" They can be erected on bearers on top of hardstanding.
But you'll have a timber floor, raised up and not great for putting a motorcycle in, but not impossible.
You may want a concrete base, better for getting a motorcycle in and generally more substantial, a better job really.

I have a builder friend coming round to discuss bases. I would like to keep the bike in there. Hence the desire for something more substantial.

Not adverse for a drive up to Garstang. Would be handy to see a shed before buying one.

I don't know where you're based Matt, but there's a bloody big shed supplier, with a huge display just off the M6 at junction 23 (A580 East Lancs Road)
I was in there last week, loads of stuff to look at and good prices.
