I'm looking for some suggestions please. I'm wanting a trail or adventure bike but my problem is that so many of them are just too tall for me (I'm 5'4")

XT225 or SL230 would be fine but they're hard to find. I'm fine on a lowered Versys or V-Strom or a standard CB500X but I really don't need the weight and cc

Can anyone give me some suggestions of suitable bikes to look for please?

It's my first bike in many years, so don't want to spend a fortune on it (in case I drop it lol) Couple of grand or so, give or take.

Found a 250 dominator that appealed but wasn't sure if 1800 quid was a fair price for it or not.

Oh, it has to be road legal as well - not wanting much really, am I?

Always had to do that on my old trail as well lol - that's why I don't want the weight of the likes of the versys or v-strom

the CCMgp450 lowered option really is VERY low.. and very stable (tried one a coupla weeks ago) .. but is expensive and needs sorting from new.

any suspension-lowered seat on a bike will involve some grounding in ruts, as the seat-to-bashplate measurement is the same .. the engine area is lowered too.

the seat cut down is another option or addition .. but then you got a hard seat. Narrowing the seat can help too.

to modify the seat to bash plate measurement would involve some serious engineering.

some bikes that may be suitable for suspension-lowering .. CRF250L / crf230 / klx? / super Sherpa / serow / beta 200 alp / 350 alp / ...

yamahas tend to be very tall to start with (ttr250)

maybe look at some 125's ?

(others on here will have a better idea perhaps)

My old trail was a 2-stroke 125 and I loved it, so I'm not averse to even looking at 125's

Any suggestions on sites to look on as well?

Big bit of information missing is what do you want to do with it?
