Mindful of the old adage about a £50 helmet for a £50 head I was a bit dubious about buying this for my precious (to me anyway) head. But I was out of options as I needed a helmet while the claim went through for damage from an accident that was not my fault and being short of cash I shrugged, told myself it would not be for long and bought it.
14 months later it is still going.
The helmet is ECE 22.05 certified and came with spare visor and 2 neck protectors - one summer, one winter. The action on both flip front and visor is positive and the visor stays in the up position regardless of speed. Glasses are accommodated comfortably and there is a built-in sun visor.
Finish is good in my opinion but not outstanding. The wind defector in the chin piece is flimsy and the press studs holding it in place have a habit of coming undone when unlocking the front of the helmet.
The visor is not Pinlock fitted but thanks to the ventilation I did not have too many problems using the helmet even through the seemingly never ending winter of 2012/13. Some fogging and some water ingress on to the visor but nothing I could not live with. The view out of the visor is not the best I've ever seen, but nor is it bad enough for me to feel unsafe. It is a noisy helmet though, requiring earplugs at all times even for the shortest trips.
Overall I was impressed. Heavier than some of it's rivals undoubtedly, but the price and the specification seem to me to make up for that. Not a helmet that I would choose for continental touring but fine for short distance commuting and an emergency purchase in straitened times.
