I have recently purchased this Jacket and matching trousers in an attempt to continue riding/commuting through the winter. I had what I would describe as good quality bike gear to do this but I increasingly found putting wet gear back on for a return journey an unpleasant must, even though this gear keep me dry with a Gortex liner.
Firstly the Jacket was bought from a German based website and I make no apologies for this for when or if you decide to purchase this type of gear the £'s saved make sense and postage costs and delivery are very good.
I didn't fit local and buy I measured and used the Rukka sizing chart and the fit of both jacket and trousers was as stated and fitted perfectly.
On first inspection the Jacket is, as you would expect of very high quality. All the zips and closure devices are finished to perfection. The general cut of the jacket is good and although it was a bit stiff around the collar at first this has already given some. The storm cuffs are a blessing with little to do to get a secure glove/jacket bond. The pockets both internally and externally are very well sited and easy to access and they are big enough to get an ungloved hand into. There are adjustments on the bottom edge of jacket for additional slack and vents at both shoulders although I have yet to need them.
There is an Outlast liner fitted, which if you're familiar, is used now by a fair few manufacturers and in my opinion very good at heat regulation. It allows you to be minimum with your layers although I have yet to test the jacket in really cold conditions.
The armour is provided by Rukka and in all the right places including the back, although I use an additional Knox system.
I am pleased with the purchase and although clearly a luxury for some including me I have to say the Jacket and Trousers once worn gives you a feeling of complete weather protection and it works as stated.
